Grant County High School

Grant County High School

The new Grant County High School occupies a 30-acre site and was designed for two phases. Phase 1 was constructed to house 1,100 students with common spaces for 1,300 and utilities designed to allow for a future addition for 200 students. The recently completed Phase 2 has seven standard classrooms and a freshman science room and is used primarily as a home for the freshman students.

Planned to accommodate both the school district and the community, the new facility allows for separation of public spaces from the rest of the building. The 400-seat auditorium, 1,700-seat gymnasium, the cafeteria and the media center all share a common lobby and public entrance, allowing the remainder of the building to be easily secured during evening, weekend and community use.

The high school incorporates administrative and standard classroom spaces with several specialty areas like life skills, technical education, agricultural science, computer science, music and art. Unlike many schools in the region, the agricultural science is in the main school building adjacent to the technology learning spaces.
