Barbourville Activity Center
The new Shirley F. Buck Treadway Activity Center was built as an addition to Barbourville High School on the main campus of Barbourville Independent Schools. The activity center was designed for large regional events, featuring an 1,800-seat gymnasium with expanded seating capabilities and upper level platforms for cameras.
The project included a large public gathering space with ticket booth, concession stand and public restrooms. Other features include locker rooms for athletic teams and for physical education classes at the high school, a state-of-the-art weight training room, and educational and administrative office space.
In addition, this project also involved replacement of the district’s outdated board office with a new one constructed adjacent to the activity center.
