Project Description: New 25,000 s.f., two-story (with intermediate mechanical mezzanine) building to be built on WKU’s campus. Building will be home to the music department and will include two large rehearsal spaces, sheet music libraries, and offices. Structure will be a combination of concrete and steel columns, concrete retaining walls, spread footing foundations, steel joists, and metal trusses. Exterior walls will be a combination of stone and brick veneer over either metal stud or CMU. Roof will be thermoplastic and standing seam metal. An alternate will include work to renovate a portion of the existing Fine Arts Center into a Percussion suite with large rehearsal room and five individual practice spaces.
